Candy Cane Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients:

  • 15 Medjool dates
  • 3/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 candy canes
  • Dark chocolate (optional, for coating)

Instructions:

  1. Blend the Base:
    • In a high-power blender, combine the almonds, pitted Medjool dates, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Blend until the mixture forms a sticky dough ball.
  2. Add Candy Cane Crunch:
    • Crush one or two candy canes into small pieces. Add the crushed candy cane pieces to the dough mixture.
  3. Mix and Form Balls:
    • Mix the crushed candy cane pieces into the dough until well combined. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small truffle-sized balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined tray.
  4. Chill in Freezer:
    • Place the tray of truffle balls in the freezer for about 20 to 30 minutes. Chilling will help the truffles firm up and make them easier to coat with chocolate.
  5. Optional Chocolate Coating:
    • If desired, melt dark chocolate in the microwave or on a stovetop using a double boiler. Once melted, you can dip each chilled truffle into the chocolate to create a thin chocolate coating. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
  6. Sprinkle Candy Cane Topping:
    • Before the chocolate coating hardens, sprinkle a few broken pieces of candy cane on top of each truffle. This will add a festive touch and extra candy cane flavor.
  7. Set and Serve:
    • Once the chocolate coating has set, transfer the truffles to a serving plate or container. They are now ready to be enjoyed as a delightful holiday treat!

Note: These 4-ingredient candy cane truffles are a simple and delicious holiday treat. The combination of Medjool dates and almonds creates a naturally sweet and nutty base, while cocoa powder adds a rich chocolatey flavor. Adding crushed candy cane pieces to the mixture gives the truffles a festive twist and a hint of peppermint. For an extra layer of decadence, you can coat the truffles in melted dark chocolate and sprinkle more candy cane pieces on top. These truffles are perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings during the holiday season.
