Some of the comments that I hear from people about why they don’t eat healthier foods is that they aren’t sure what to do with them. This makes perfect sense to me – a box of mac and cheese has directions on it but a zucchini has nothing. I’ll admit that Google is my friend when trying to figure out what to do with certain foods but I found an easier way that is perfect if you are trying to eat better but don’t know where to start. It’s Ziploc Steam bags!
These sell at any local store (I get mine at Target) for about $3 for a 10 pack. Here’s what each bag looks like:
As you can see, it has many different foods printed on it and cook times for that particular food. All you have to do is put the food in the bag (you may need to cut it up, depending on what it is), season it however you would like, and microwave it for the recommended cook time. You don’t have to add water or any other liquid…just the food and a little seasoning. In just a couple of minutes, you have a delicious steamed food. It’s quicker than making that box of mac and cheese and much healthier too!
Have you ever used Ziploc Steam bags? What did you think of them?
