Mr. Real Food loves salsa….the spicier, the better.
He can eat the stuff like you would not believe! So this recipe was for him and was a huge hit!
He said it was even better the next day and is definitely a keeper recipe.
Not only is this salsa amazing with chips, it is great to top other foods. It’s perfect with almost every Tex Mex dish from tacos to enchiladas to quesadillas. But try adding it to grilled chicken or baked salmon too. The versatility of this salsa will blow your mind. Salsa verde adds a whole new taste to dishes that may have become just a little boring.
- 1/2 pound tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and quartered
- 1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- squeeze of fresh lime
- Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and pulse to combine and get juices flowing. Blend on low speed until a coarse puree is formed. Pour into a dish, taste and add more salt or lime if desired. Salsa can be thinned with a bit of water if desired. Serve with chips.
