What a great year 2014 has been! It was my second full year with the blog and another year of incredible growth and I’m extremely pleased with how the year went. I’ve got some big things happening in 2015 and can’t wait to show you! But for now, I’m going to share the top 14 posts of 2014!
I love my slow cooker for so many reasons, especially because it makes preparing a healthy dinner quick and easy. This collection is 9 of my favorite slow cooker meals. They are sure to be a big hit with your family too!
These veggie egg muffins are so easy to make and are a great way to start the day. You can even add a little sausage or bacon for the meat-eaters in your life! They are super budget-friendly too!
I knew coconut oil was great for cooking but I had no idea that it could be used for so many everyday things. I’ve always got coconut oil on hand now since it’s great for almost everything! If you don’t know how useful coconut oil is, you need to read this one!
I really loved writing this post because I learned about a bunch of different spices and what they were good for. It really helped me get away from using the same spices time after time.
All I can say about this one is OMG! Seriously, it’s super easy to make with just a few ingredients and has all the tastes of fall!
This post was actually from 2013 but showed up in the top viewed recipes for the year. Since it was too new last year to make the top list, I’ll throw it in here because it’s so good. Even Mr. Real Food, who doesn’t eat sweets very often, loved this one.
This was another recipe from way back in 2013 but it’s such a classic. I did a different version of it this year too with Beer Braised Pot Roast that was pretty dang awesome and a nice change but this is the classic pot roast recipe that my family loves.
My girls love orange chicken and I do too but since I no longer eat fried foods, eating orange chicken at a restaurant was out of the question. And I had no idea how to make it myself. This recipe turned out really well, wasn’t fried and even better – is made in the slow cooker so it takes little effort.
Mr. Real Food is a huge fan of spicy food. Me, not so much. But this was a good soup for us. It had enough spice for him and was within my tolerance of spice. Surprisingly, we both loved this one!
This was an amazing salsa recipe – so light and refreshing and a great variation on typical salsa. It’s perfect summer get togethers or just dipping some chips. I’m ready for cucumber season to get here so I can make this again!
Since I love snacks but want to keep them healthy, these were perfect for me. The only take 2 ingredients, a touch of salt, and 5 minutes. They really couldn’t be easier to make and you can even add in chocolate chips or dried fruit to change them up.
This is a super-simple freezer meal that only requires a few ingredients. Throw them in the slow cooker in the morning and dinner is ready when you get home!
My family loves guacamole and always requests that I make it for them. It’s super easy and a tasty way to get a healthy dose of good fat so I’m super happy to make it for them as often as possible.
Another super simple dinner recipe that can easily be made into different meals so it’s perfect for making a big batch and making different meals for a few days. One simple slow cooker meal can make dinner for several nights – doesn’t get easier than that!
