Happy Active Nation Day!!!

Did you know that September 28th is Active Nation Day?  That means it’s time to celebrate!

What is Active Nation Day?

Active Nation Day is a movement created in 2012 by Lorna Jane to help women live an authentic and active life.  Lorna Jane will be hosing events all over the world on September 28th where sporty sisters can learn and take part in a specially choreographed fitness routine.  But even if you aren’t near one of the official events, you can still get active and take part in this great event!

How can I get involved?

Since I’m guessing you can’t travel to one of the many locations where events are being held today, you are still encouraged to participate on your own or with a group of friends.  Lorna Jane has a great iphone app (download it here).  It’s even available for Androids too (download it here).  The app encourages you to move, nourish and believe.  If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I’m a huge believer in a well balanced approach to health and fitness so I love the app.  With this app, you can record your activity, whether it’s running, walking, biking or whatever gets you moving.  You’ll even get an encouraging message from Lorna Jane herself!  How cool is that?!?  To nourish your body, the app offers a bunch of recipes and healthy eating tips that truly help you nourish your body with delicious and healthy foods.  I think my favorite part of the app is the believe section.  I love the encouraging and motivating words that are offered.  So many people use words to hurt, but I love to use them to motivate and inspire.  I posted one of my favorite quotes on Instagram last week.
