Easy Chicken and Bacon Spinach Salad

I am always on the lookout for quick and easy meal solutions for my family.  The only problem is that many of those convenience foods are loaded with preservatives and other things that I don’t want to feed my family.  But the reality of my life is that I just don’t always have time to cook a healthy meal.

After making this salad a few weeks ago, I was inspired to up my salad game.  Mr. Real Food especially loved the bacon and spinach combination so I decided to improve that and add more protein to make it more of an entree salad.

When I spotted Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken in the freezer section at Walmart, I knew that was exactly what I needed to make the perfect salad.  After reading the nutrition label, I discovered that it contained no preservatives and was made with 100% all natural ingredients and white meat chicken.  Since Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken is already fully cooked, it is simple and convenient to prepare.  That makes it incredibly easy to help my family eat right even when we’re busy!  I also picked up a bottle of Wish-Bone® Italian dressing since that is Mr. Real Food’s favorite salad dressing.

Here’s how I made this super easy salad:

I used our standard salad ingredients to start since that’s what we love eating.

Our base salad consists of spinach, tomatoes, and onion.  Just add the spinach to the bowl and add diced tomatoes and onion to the top.

After discovering how much we love bacon in a salad, I added that as well.  Either heat pre-cooked bacon or fully cook slices, chop and sprinkle on salad.

For some healthy fat that keeps us fuller longer, I added some diced avocado.

To increase the amount of protein, I added in the chicken breast strips too.

Since the chicken is already cooked, it only takes a minute or so in the microwave to prepare according to the package directions.

The chicken and bacon together really added a hearty flavor and the warm chicken and bacon make it an ideal main course salad.  It’s easy to have this salad on the table in less than 5 minutes!

To top it all off, I added Wish-Bone® Italian dressing.  This dressing is packed full of herbs, seasoning and flavors that make it a robust, full-flavored dressing.  It added just the right blend of flavors to make this salad perfect.  And since it contains no high fructose corn syrup, I feel good about serving it to my family.
