Salsa Verde

Mr. Real Food loves salsa….the spicier, the better.  He can eat the stuff like you would not believe!

So this recipe was for him and was a huge hit! He said it was even better the next day and is definitely a keeper recipe.

Salsa Verde

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and quartered
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • squeeze of fresh lime

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and pulse to combine and get juices flowing.  Blend on low speed until a coarse puree is formed.  Pour into a dish, taste and add more salt or lime if desired.  Salsa can be thinned with a bit of water if desired.  Serve with chips.
