Cinnamon-Spiced Roasted Almonds
Ingredients:
- 3 cups raw almonds
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 cup organic coconut palm sugar
- 1 teaspoon water
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius). This low temperature will allow the almonds to roast slowly and evenly, bringing out their flavor without burning them.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the egg white until it’s slightly beaten and has a frothy texture.
- To the whisked egg white, add the organic coconut palm sugar, water, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure all the ingredients are well combined and form a sticky, cinnamon-infused coating.
- Add the 3 cups of raw almonds to the bowl containing the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly to ensure all the almonds are evenly coated with the flavorful mixture.
- Prepare a lightly greased cookie pan or baking sheet to prevent sticking. You can use parchment paper or a light coating of oil.
- Spread the coated almonds onto the prepared cookie pan, making sure they are spread out in an even layer. This will allow for even roasting and prevent clumping.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and roast the almonds for about an hour. Stir the almonds every 15 minutes to prevent them from sticking together and to ensure even roasting.
- As the almonds roast, they will gradually turn a beautiful golden brown and become fragrant with the warm aroma of cinnamon.
- Once the almonds have achieved the desired golden color and are roasted to your preference, remove the pan from the oven and allow the almonds to cool completely. This will also allow them to achieve their final crisp texture.
- Once cooled, transfer the cinnamon-spiced roasted almonds to an airtight container. Ensure the container is properly sealed to keep the almonds fresh and crisp.
- Your Cinnamon-Spiced Roasted Almonds are now ready to enjoy! They make for a delicious and satisfying snack, a lovely addition to cheese platters, or a delightful topping for yogurt or oatmeal.
Note: These almonds can be stored in the airtight container for a few weeks, maintaining their flavor and crunchiness.
